Bird watching can be done anywhere and is a great activity to do with children. Many people find it relaxing and therapeutic to be surrounded with birds.

A good place to start learning about birds is in your backyard. You can attract a variety of species by providing bird feeder.

Here are a few tips to help you choose the right bird feeder for your yard.

Design

Bird FeedersThere is an array of styles; from rustic to whimsical to down right fancy! Choose one that enhances your yard. Be sure it is weather proof! Clean according to manufacturers’ instructions to keep your birds healthy.

Location

Use a bird book to choose which seeds to purchase. Consider birds you are trying to attract and choose accordingly.
